2016 Writing Competition

Eligibility

The LAND Writing Competition are open to any student enrolled in a credit class at a public Michigan two-year college during the 2016 calendar year. Faculty may make judicious suggestions to students for revision of entries.

Individual colleges may submit two entries per category. Entries must be submitted by the college's contest coordinator.

Local Competitions

Finalists for the LAND Writing Competition are selected by procedures established by the individual colleges who are members of LAND.

Entry Form

LAND does not accept entries sent directly by students. The entry form should be submitted by each college's contest coordinator.

Meet Professor Peter Kim
Coordinator, LAND Writing Competition


Peter Kim is an English instructor at Henry Ford College, where he has taught for nearly 15 years. From 2011-2014, Dr. Kim served as the Coordinator of HFC's tutoring services. Prior to teaching at HFC, he taught as an adjunct at several Michigan community colleges. Dr. Kim also taught at Focus Hope and Wayne State University. He received his doctorate in English literature at Wayne State University. He has published essays on Mark Twain, Toni Morrison, and has published several film and book reviews. A Michiganian most of his life, he loves the Great Lakes state.
