Meet Professor Finch Roberts Coordinator, LAND Writing Contest
Finch Roberts is an English Instructor at Jackson Community College. For almost 20 years, he has been teaching composition, and a variety of literature courses including Children’s Literature, Poetry and Drama, American and English literature. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Film studies, and a Master’s Degree in English from Eastern Michigan University. He and his wife Becky are international travelers, and are planning trips to Africa and South America in 2013.

LAND hosts an annual community college writing contest, open to all students in Michigan's community colleges. There are three categories for the contest.
Individual colleges may submit two entries per category. Entries must be submitted by the college's contest coordinator. First, second and third-place finalists in the categories of Fiction, Essay and Poetry receive monetary awards and publication.
Please note: LAND does not accept entries sent directly by students.

Finalists for the LAND Writing Contests are selected by procedures established by the individual colleges who are members of LAND.
